Finding our North Star

23 Dec 2020, Kuwait City: Over the past few months, we have continued to work with students, educators, school administrators, parents, as well as with the educational institutions, CSOs, foundations and companies involved in the coalition, to make sure the priority areas and strategies we develop are reflective of the real needs and aspirations of our stakeholders. Following several meetings, focus groups and working sessions, we have collectively identified the following as our North Star, or end goal:

We want a society where everyone has the skills, opportunity and desire to actively contribute to the betterment of the community.

We have also developed a set of shared indicators that will help us measure whether we are getting closer to our goal. Indicators will be disaggregated by age, gender, nationality, ability and sector, and will be specifically looking at measuring critical thinking and social-emotional skills, engagement in the school and broader community, awareness and acceptance of equity and inclusion, and adoption of sustainability practices.

As next steps, we will continue to develop our data collection and analysis capacity, and begin to implement collaborative strategies to get us closer to our goal, with the support of our partners at the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung.
