Research

The IDEA Project uses an applied research framework to identify practical and innovative solutions that support the accessibility and inclusion of racialized people with disabilities across Canada.

  • Academic Advisory Committee

An Academic Advisory Committee has been established to provide guidance and expertise to the research phase of The IDEA Project. They provide guidance and support on developing our research methodology and provide their expert analysis and scholarship.

  • Literature Review

A review of the literature on race and disability in Canada informs our work and provides an understanding of key challenges and opportunities facing racialized people with disabilities in Canada.

  • Primary Research

Surveys, interviews, and focus groups will help us connect with and learn about the key issues facing race and disability organizations, mainstream disability organizations as well as racialized peoples with disabilities across Canada. The results will support the development of the IDEA toolkits.
