In honour of #internationalwomensday, we want to celebrate our founder, Rabia Khedr! Rabia embodies this year’s theme of #InspireInclusion, which encourages everyone to recognize the unique perspectives and contributions of #women from all walks of life, including racialized women with disabilities. Rabia Khedr is the CEO of our parent organization, DEEN Support Services, the national director of Disability Without Poverty, and serves on various advisory groups, organizations, and boards addressing the intersections of race and disability. She has more than 25 years of experience in community organizing, including extensive work for disability justice causes, at local, provincial and national levels. Rabia champions the #equity, #inclusion, and #rights of racialized people with disabilities, women, and diverse communities. Recognizing the lack of representation in legislation for racialized people with disabilities, she got involved in community organizing to create the change she wanted to see. This inspired her saying: “I don’t waste time seeing, I spend time doing.” Learn more about Rabia here https://lnkd.in/evf9xGqm DEEN Support Services Disability Without Poverty Emploi et Développement social Canada (EDSC) / Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) Plan Institute #iwd2024 #internationalwomensday #inspireinclusion #iwd #DEENSupportServices #esdc #DisabilityWithoutPoverty #WomenLeaders #genderequality #intersectionality #disabilityrights #communityadvocate #inspiringwomen #celebratewomen #womenrights #inclusion #equity #RaceandDisability
